Junior CloudOps Engineer
Job Summary
We are looking for a Junior CloudOps Engineer to support cloud infrastructure operations and application deployments on AWS. This role provides hands-on exposure to Linux administration, Docker-based deployments, and cloud resource management under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS and Linux-based systems.
- Perform basic Linux system administration tasks under supervision.
- Support deployment, configuration, and routine maintenance of cloud resources.
- Assist with Docker-based application deployments on AWS ECS and EC2.
- Support container image builds, updates, and deployments under guidance.
- Assist with server provisioning, configuration updates, and environment setup.
- Support troubleshooting of server, container, network, and application-level issues.
- Assist with backup configuration, recovery checks, and basic security practices.
- Support patching, updates, and planned infrastructure changes.
- Maintain and update infrastructure, deployment, and operational documentation.
- Work closely with senior engineers to learn containerization, automation, and cloud best practices.
- Follow defined operational procedures, security policies, and compliance guidelines.
- Provide support during planned maintenance activities and incident resolution when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Basic understanding of AWS services (EC2, VPC, Security Groups, IAM).
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Basic understanding of Docker concepts and containerized applications.
- Familiarity with AWS ECS or container deployments on EC2 (basic level).
- Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS).
- Understanding of server provisioning and deployment workflows.
- Ability to follow SOPs, documentation, and change processes.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Good to Have
- Hands-on exposure to Docker image creation and container lifecycle.
- Familiarity with ECS task definitions and services.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (basic understanding).
- Entry-level cloud certification or active preparation.
- Internship or lab-based cloud deployment experience.
